Default Nav/video display in roadster

Has anyone installed a nav or video system in a roadster? Not the factory nav, but an aftermarket unit?

I'm trying to decide between going with a video display installed in the factory nav display location, versus using a headunit with a built-in motorized video panel. I'm only going to use the video panel for nav, not movies.....

I'm thinking that the factory location will maybe provide some sun shading for those perfect days when you're lost with the top down -- but then again, that little storage box is kind of convenient.......

Thoughts/experiences?

Thanks!

I do not have this. But check out Pioneer AVIC-N1. It has everything, GPS, Nav, DVD, 6.5" Video screen, and accel, breaking, G-force monitoring.

Thanks for trying to be helpful, but I did a search; in fact I did several. I found exactly one thread where one post mentioned some possibility of sun glare on the factory nav system with the top down. I didn't see any posts about hu's with pop-up displays installed in a roadster.

But what I am specifically asking about is if a pop-up lcd in a hu would have better or worse glare issues than an lcd installed in the factory nav compartment........

I have my in dash motorized unit and sun is rarely a factor. As a matter of fact if I leave the navi door open it will help shade my screen. Hmm images won't attach atm.
