350ZR as a Daily Driver?
Potential new Z Roadster owner here.
I was wondering how many of you use your Roadster as a daily driver? I currently have a BMW 325i which is a great sport sedan. However, my partner and I will soon have two sedans, and I am in love with the looks of the Roadster.
Is the ZR comfortable enough as a daily driver in an urban area (i.e. with less than perfectly smooth roads)? How about noise with the top up?
Thanks!

Mine is my daily driver....
It's comfortable with both short commutes to the office as well as raod trips. Noise with the top up is not bad. You hear more stuff from outside but it's bearable. I do more top down driving though.
I highly reccomend getting one if possible.

I also drive mine everyday. I love it. Just went from a 5min commute to a 45min. the Z makes it all worth while.
Smooth ride, low moise. Maybe too good. I fell asleep while driving home the other day!!!

I drive mine daily also and I drive lots of miles. About 30K mi per year. Its pretty comfortable. The only thing is there is no room to put things in & its kinda hard to get in and out of the car.
Other than that, its great. I really don't have any issue except for 2 minor things I mentioned.

Agree with flukechance and ssko771 - a Z makes the commute worthwhile (6o miles/day).
I have the choice among my Z roadster, an SUV, and my wife's Mercedes SL. If I don't have to haul anything or the weather isn't pouring rain, I drive my Z - it's my decompression chamber at the end of the day.
It's amazing how you can arrive home at the end of a stress-filled ridiculous day with a smile on your face.

my roadster is a daily driver, as well. one of the continuing thrills of having the car is walking out to it at the end of a long, stressful day...a very nice reward; reminds me of why I work so hard! Plus, our other "car" is an FX45...also a thrill to drive. My wife and I swap up vehicles every now and then. When I want to back off on the miles I'm racking up (about 80 per day round trip) I take the "beast" as my daily driver. Best of both worlds, I must say. I find storage adequate: I've added the backrest storage sack as well as the JDM rear glove-box door net. With those additions and the other nooks, I don't have any storage issues, at all. Whenver possible, the top is down. Noise is not an issue...comes with the territory. Just crank up the radio, or turn the radio off and listen to the music from the exhaust...not a problem!

Daily driver here too. I even work out of my home, so I make regular excises to just drive. Wouldn't mind a second "use it up car though". 350ZR is just one awesome, fun car to drive and look at. :-)

my touring roadster is also a commuter. 70 miles a day.
Ride is not jarring even in so cal streets (much much better than boxster and s2000). Not too noisy. Not too windy when windows up. Not cramped.
It's totally livable for a daily commute. And I agree with the others that it a reward to drive it 35 miles after a hard day at work. I actually look forward to the 35 miles commute (usually I leave late, so I dodge the horrible so cal traffic)
Even in stop and go traffic, the Z is great because with all that torque, you don't have to shift a lot.
