Checked with Thunderhill Track, can't do their driving school in a roadster with OEM rollbars. Need an after market bar. Anyone put a roll bar in their roadster?

 

I looked into it and found it extremely costly. Luckily, I am able to run my roadster at a couple of tracks on the east coast (Pocono and Watkins Glen) with the factory roll over system. Cost of roll bar installation was estimated to be around $3-$4000.Being these cars are so new and so few around no one has any experience with them. It was cheaper for me to get a 91 Miata and upgrade it for the track than getting the roll bar for my roadster. So, I alternate my track days between the Miata and the Z. But, there is no comparison. The Z handles the track very well.

Reasonably priced trackdays, good instructors available, and your ZR stock roll over hoops are fine. Infineon, Laguna Seca, Buttonwillow, or Thunderhill.

 

Ran my roadster at Pocono, handled very well and showed those BMW's/M's a thing or two. Going back to Pocono this weekend, looking forward to another great time on the track.
