Default Fire Extinguisher - Do you carry one?

Do you carry a fire extinguisher in your -Z-?

Halon?

Are the small ones sufficient?

Where have you mounted it? Pics?

Have you ever needed it for any reason?

We need something like this for the Z.

Does someone already make one? If not, is there someone here that could?

I put out a fire in another guys car once with one. He was extremely grateful. A small one will fit in the spare tire. Wrap it in car rags or a towel to protect it and keep it from rattling around.

I've heard of people and friends doing that. Its kinda like having your car stolen. At point who would want it back?

Every time this comes up I have thought that a good place to attach a bracket would be where the baby seat tie down goes in the front part of the trunk. A nice bolt point is already there and would be a strong spot. Kind of out of the way yet easy to get to.

It's a good idea to carry one in your vehicle. If not to put your own car out, can be used to help someone else. Although my experience has shown a fire extinguisher doesn't do squat to put out an engine fire once visible flames are present. Once they go, bring out the marshmallows.

Who said anything about cars exploding? The discussion is about fire extinguishers.

I have one of the normal compact automotive red ones under the passenger seat. If you move it forward all the way it will sit right at the back of the floor board and you can back the seat up all the way over it.
