Default Forged Performance: HKS Hipermax III 370Z Install

Mike has been anxious to give his 370Z a capable coilover system for street and track use and also lower the car down to a pleasant level. In 20F freezing weather, Mike brought us his 370Z for the install to take place this weekend.

As we all know, the 370Z suspension is fairly soft...even moreso than the 350Z OEM suspension, and all it takes is 10 mins on a racetrack to realize the suspension (and brakes) are in dire need of improvement. Car&Driver found this out the hard way.

Like most HKS products The HKS Hipermax III's are extremly high quality and well engineered. Installation was very straightforward. For the timebeing we left the adjustments right in the middle of the range until Mike has a chance to dial them to his driving style on the track. After a couple of ride height adjustments we had everything set to Mike's request. I think the look is stunning. Because of the icy roads and inclimate weather, we didn't have a chance to give it a high performance road evaluation but I am sure Mike will chime in with his assessment.

Hey Guys thanks for the compliments on the ride! I have to say the HKS coilovers are fantastic! and now after installing the Hotchkis sway bars they are out of this world!!!! these two products must have been made for each other. FP did an amazing install job on my car and it is about to be at their shop once again for their first TT 370z build!

Celestak, I cant remember the spring rates off the top of my head but we did drop the car over 3+" and lets just say on those 20's we couldnt clear anything including small bumps in the road. so we raised the car up a lil so i could atleast DD it.

not even a little bit. sorry. terrible rims, tiny tires, the black center bumper cover, the headlights don't even really 'fit' for some reason.

just not feeling it whatsoever.

ok, the tires are tiny because the wheels are 20's. i lovce the black center bumper cover. love the color matched headlights but not sure about the lighting mod.
