Default Custom intake manifold and cold air intake

Hi,everyone. Couple months ago I got into an accident and the 370z was written off. I am working on getting another Z.

In the mean time, I will be making custom intake manifold and cold air intake. Can anyone tell me the measurements for the following:

Upper intake manifold height
upper intake manifold width(not where throttle body is)

lower intake manifold(from cylinder head to where upper intake manifold attaches)

Cold air intake( from throttle body to maf)
(From throttle body to where pipe bends at bumper)

Appreciate your help guys. Thanks

please post your progress and results … I would like to see what you come up with.

with that being said -

just buy a replacement from the Z1 or ebay or wherever. To think you can improve on Nissan's and/or Z1s design is a fools-errand. Learn from the zillion attempts (both professionally and amateurly) on the DE engine. A million different intakes are available for the DE and none (with the exception of the Cosworth) are better than OEM.

But I commend you for trying!

Its going to be a 3 inch cold air intake. Its worth a try. Not going to start until I get the numbers. Its for a VQ35HR , not a DE

Admintuning made a 3 inch cold air intake.

These intakes have been proven to be the most powerful intakes available for the 350Z VQ35HR platform. In our testing, these intakes have added 35whp and 24wtq over the stock airboxes (with a tune), adding significant amounts of power everywhere on the powerband.

Not sure if its dyno proven. But I am not spending $600 USD since I am from Canada.

Honestly measurement won't help you much if you don't have a car to work fitment on. Once you have your car you can do your own mock up to make sure it can fit. Also larger tubes require tuning, this is not an option. Must be done

I measured before installing my DE CAI. The diff was literally -6F than stock location w a laser thermometer. Stock is poly-composite, aftermarket is usually metal, so heat-soak. Knock yourself out.

I'm all about helping and don't take my posts as 'hate'

I understand it's an HR. The HR has 2.5" throttle bodies? and you're going to put a 3" intake up to that point? Do you plan to re-tune?

Post up your progress, your thoughts, sketches, etc -

I actually did my own intake on my DE and I picked up 328hp after I tuned … albeit, two turbos were on the ***-end of my custom intake.

Cosworth is better than OEM for boosted applications not NA, it will lose power like anything else out there.
