You definitely need more than just the bulb.

The techs that prepped the lone, local 370Z in my town also said the wiring harness to the rear fog unit was indeed there. They also confirmed that the bulb was missing.

But, to turn the rear fog on/off, the owners’ manual says to use the fog selector on the turn-signal stalk (the one that also has the headlight selector). As the USDM does not have this stalk, it would need to be purchased, installed, & wired for the OEM look. You could also figure out a way to wire a stand-alone switch, but it would not be as clean, IMHO.

Also having seen the USDM car, but not being able to tinker with it, it looks to me that the red lens/reflector is either missing in full or is covered by something black. The "b*tthole" is not red and semi-transparent, as shown in all the Euro and JDM pics.

So, the parts list as best as I **imagine** it would be:
- Bulb
- JDM/Euro turn signal stalk w/ fog selector
- JDM/Euro red lens (or removal of USDM cover plate)

The question I have is: will the USDM wiring at the base of the stalk accept the JDM/Euro stalk and be able to operate the rear fog?

I would just wire it in so it came on with the headlights. Splice in power from the tail lights if you need to. Use a led bulb so the draw is minimal. done.

Instead of purchasing a separate signal stalk with fog selector, you could just figure out how to wire it so that the rear fog lights would come on when you turn on your highbeams in foggy condition. It makes more logical sense.

what exactly is the point of having a reverse fog light? so cars behind you can see you in heavy fog?

Maybe it's just me, but I've always found it counter-productive to turn on the high beams in foggy conditions -- the light just reflects back on you against the fog and blinds you. That's why fog lights are mounted low to the ground.

Default Rear camera location

The new 370Z rear view is more cave like than the 350Z in IMHO. I would rather locate a rear camera len in that location and paint the black plastic the exterior body color.

Have you ever followed someone that has the rear fog turned on when it doesn't need to be?
It's VERY annoying.

JMO but it needs to be done right or not at all with the OE fog sw.

Holly crap I couldn't agree more. I never understood this logic(well, actually the opposite of logical) of intentional mispelling. I went with my cousin to help her complete a job application and she started typing up like it was her myspace. I slapped her on the back of the head and asked her what she was doing? She didn't even realize she was mispelling because it came so naturally to her from bad habbits with her myspace.

Why not wire it to come on with the brakes?

since i will be purchasing a black 370 i plan on just drilling a small hole and putting a camera w/some LED white lights to see better when backing out of places.

Nope, it's a rear fog light. Euro and JDM models come with rear fog lights. The manual even references it. But US cars don't have them (I think they violate some DOT regulation or something) so Nissan just didn't hook up the wiring on US models. The 'cleaner' thing to do would have been to use a different rear bumper cover on US cars, that we wouldn't even see it. But I guess that would have added to their cost. And there's no hole there, btw -- there's a lens cover in that spot. It's dark though, so I can see why it might look like a hole in pics.

The idea that US regulations don't allow the rear fog light due to height restrictions can't be true. My current 2007 Audi A4 has two rear fog lights that are integrated in the tail light assembly (much higher off the ground). Unless there is an issue with there only being one in a central location on the bumper....confusion for a brake light?
