take the postulate a=1 and b=1. therefore a=b
such that
a*2=b*2 where * denotes raised to the power of
as such a*2 - b*2 = a*2 - b*2
this can be written as
a*2 - b*2 = a*2 - ab
this factors to
(a+b)(a-b)=a(a-b)
dividing both sides by (a-b), we have
a+b=a
therefore
1+1=1
2=1
when a=b=x where x is another number than 1, different conundrums will result such as a=b=2 which results with 4=2.
