Allright its time to settle this, yes the stillen is safe for the weak *** power it produces.I just took off the stillen which according to a hub mounted dyno(cant remember the name)used on my car said 340.1 rwhp.....................well let me tell you i have been at functiontuned all day.Dave had to correct my redneck enginnered ic piping(greddy instructions absolutley suck *****)and i only put down on his heartbreak dyno,327rwhp and 328rwt at only 6 psi on a 2003 g35 auto with stock cats and a 2.5" borla. On the ride home this thing pulls hard as hell and it would absolutley destroy my old stillen setup and i know this thing is tuned very consevatively,i was there all day.
I was once a stillen stallwart cause that was the only safe fi back in 2003,and yes it is safe cause it dosent put out **** and remember i just took it off.I now the greddy twins will be just as safe with dave,s tune as the stillen was.Btw i now of at least 7 blown stillens first hand.
And if you think the numbers are low this was done on dave,s heartbreaker dyno which will make you cry but the numbers on a dynojet would be in the 360ish range.

you know....everyone on here has their opinions on what works best for them and they are happy with. Imagine how "boring" it would be if everyone had the same s__t! What would there be to talk about? Like I said in the beginning Stillen is what it is and if that's what someone wants to spend their ducks on....then go for it. I thought this forum was was about a 350Z "community"! Seems pretty hostile to me and it certainly got off the point. It's about having a fun ride, whatever the "DYNO CHARTS" say....is it not? What do you guys do at a 350Z rally......***** at each other and arm wrestle over stats or discuss technical stuff to get the most out of your ride?

That is why we are letting people know that Steve Millens Supercharger is not what it is proclaimed to be.

what does this promotional offer have to do with Stillen proclaiming anything? Everyone knows their system is not "twin APS" power, but in fact a reliable unit that "does" provide hp/torque increases above NA mods. The argument was never made that it's a fire breathing 14psi killer. True statement? I have a 2006 GT/6spd with Stillen Stage 2, dual path exh and CAI on a 300 rev up engine and it has "excellent power" well above the "stock" it came with I can assure you. Don't have any "numbers" but it's fun!! I'm not trying to advertise, but give a perspective based on a "satisfied" customer who knows there is more power available out there, but made a "choice"......kind of like picking a car that you like to color of....

nobody said it is the power of a turbo kit...but the fanboys that say it is the most reliable without doing any research are just fooling themselves. ...and no it doesn't make the power that is advertised. I'v read every thread in the FI section over the last 2 years (nothing better to do) and alot of people have proved that this 'reliable' kit is not so reliable. Stillen fanboys and owners get pissed all they want when we warn others about it, I'm not saying you shouldn't be happy with what you chose...if you are that's great, but facts whould still be presented...not like Solo saying 20 vortechs blow to one Stillen with nothing to back it up.

yah... the stillen kit in stg 2 is reliable cause it comes ith warranty(dealer inst) and thats the onyl reason why one would wanna keep this, maybe upgrade later but... i mean yah still it doesnt put much power...
I still think its a ncie setup but my main beef with its the cost

Thanks doug and what you all have said about the twins is all true.It is a totally different pull to it and i still havent mashed her pass half throttle And for the stillen guys i wont bash the kit except for the price of it,it,s way to much money for what you get.Ill be honest for what the kit is it is a real nice setup for low power but a great torque band and is great for stop light to stop light racing or even the 1/8th mile.THE PRICE MUST COME DOWN TO BE WORTH IT.
As for the difference between the kits it is night and day.The stillen would pull real hard at first and then taper off to what feels like a strong n/a car but the twins.....................oh hell they pull strong down low and they just keep pulling like a friggen runaway freight train going downhill.I am at only 6 psi right now and cant imagine what 8 or 9 psi would feel like***********but it is coming soon and i am going to go get a dynojet reading just for the hell of it.

I haven't read of any Stillen blown motors on the VQ, but I've read of 3 blown motors on the Titan engine, and the warranty they offer for the Titan only cover $3,000 towards a new engine (that engine costs around 5-6K + labor). Additionally, the warranty isn't through Stillen themselves, but through an outside company. So if you're leaning towards Stillen b/c of the warranty, just giving a heads up that the warranty may not cover the engine cost of an engine.

i agree with you to a certain point but i believe we as a community should look out for each other and inform people to our best abilities on the best products money can buy. then its up to that person to decide what is best for them. i honestly could not recommend the stillen to anyone for any reason. its just a waste of money.

How is Stillen a "reliable" setup? Running a Unichip is safer than running a Split Second box that can't be tuned . . .

Cool realwildone2

basically, that's why they don't have many options/upgrades that a person can apply, ie exhaust/CAI without sending the "box" back to allow programming, which I understand is locked from user tuning. The "tune" of the box is somewhat conservative to allow for those couple add-ons. That's what makes it a little safer for those using the unit. Beyond that, Stage 3 or 4 has a different box setup, fuel pump and pulley. I installed mine (Stage 2)and have been reasonably satisfied....for what it is, which is a moderate horsepower setup which got better with the exhaust and intake.....can't deny the sound too. Ones I heard of blowing came from bad installs. There are several "intercept" and signal wires that have to be "carefully" cut/spliced between the ECU and sensors. Screw that up and who knows what will happen with the add-on injector and timing.
