can you find me a single link to a fatally blown up vortech engine where the engine was dead and no longer useable due to the vortech?

I know there's some fairly old threads about damaged engines that were running vortechs but in all those cases the car was either:

-running lean, but they kept doing 1/4 mile passes anyway
-no gauges, no tune, no nothing, but was using high flow cats, plenum, exhaust etc probably running lean
-was told by tuner not to run the car hard until they upgrade some things with the fuel system, but they ran it hard anyway
-previously when NA were reving beyond redline often
-previously when NA were running 100 shots of nitrous often
-or a combination of the above


I tend to not blame whatever the FI kit is if someone did any of the above
And even still, the when the damage was done to those vortech setups, the engines were not fatally blown up - they still ran!



just for my own knowledge, if you've come across something I don't know about, I'd appreciate it if you could find a link or report what you've heard to me so I can update my vortech FAQ thread when I talk about blown engines due to vortechs.

BTW I can recall two fatally blown up stillen engines off hand, but haven't specifically searched on the subject

 

First of all he has vanished from this thread and second of all i do now of 7 stillens that have been blown...................since i have had my stillen.Now of course i am going back to when i installed mine and the only blown one,s were the one,s people fuked around with outside of stillens locked tune.

 

Just to bring back to life this thread. All those Vortech failures lately. And you really think Vortech is more reliable. Make me laugh. Stillens's aren't failing, I hardly ever see them fail period. But we are seeing a few a week almost on here of Vortechs.

theres a difference between a failing unit and blowing your motor. Wasnt the whole discussion about which sc blew the most motors?

did you not read the official vortech statement as to why the blowers died..........the bearing manufacturer changed specifications and didnt notify vortech.

it wasnt for you. It was to show how easy it would have been for you to find the exact same threads. The 20-1 ratio is still far off from reality. I found 3 real cases of blown motors on this board.......wheres the other 37.

Again, on the poll: i would not trust the results at all. Too many FI haters that could skew the poll. The poll was anonymous. Whos to say some ati or stillen guys didnt vote for vortech or vice versa. That poll is worthless. Only thing that thread has is possible stories about actual motors blowing.

 

I just guessed the ratio, I never said that was a fact. But it is a higher ratio compared to the Stillen.

so 3:2 of actual cases right now.

from the fi post.........23 stillen sc's and 65 vortechs. Both numbers are off but its all we have to go off.

so

vortech failures: 3/65 = 4.6%
and
stillen failures : 2/23 = 8.6%

8.6/4.6 is almost 2x the %!!!!!!!!!!! HOLY FOCK!

shall i get some more bs numbers? Are these admissable..........

edit: really on 22 of the stillens still exist for sure.....superchargedg went to the dark side but so did dimebag so its 64 vortechs.
