Anyone got any custom start up screens they wanna share? Im trying to get one myself. Just cant find one I like yet

 

I still haven't gotten the custom startup to work. I anyone actually gets theirs to work, please do a write-up. With image sizes, format, etc.

I know this convert file is a big part. I called Kenwood and they would not help or even give this file. Ill try this week.

Well I tried to change the startup screen by following the directions, and made sure that the convert file was in the same folder, and nothing. I tried different ways of restarting the HU, and nothing. Any insight?, anyone else got it to work?

 

Do not make a folder, just put the convert file and the picture in the root and make sure the flash drive is blank.

 

I finally got mine to work. Thanks to Duke, Nazar and God Himself.
Drop your images (480x232) and the convert file on your thumbdrive. No folder like Duke said.
Hold down Function and Eject, then hit reset (pinhole on left).
When power light comes on, let go of the F and E buttons.
HIt OEM image, pick your image and hit OK. After picking your image, the unit should just stare at you for a bit while it is converting the image.
After it's done, arrow back to the screen that has the Kenwood and OEM image buttons. At this point, hit the reset again.
You should be good to go at this point.
I had gotten so close to getting this to work four months ago, but the convert file that I downloaded was garbage. Plus, some of the instructions were bogus, including the ones from Kenwood.
