Default The Site Outage for Upgrade.

Next week the webiste will experience some downtime so we can upgrade to VB3 and the new server.

When the downtime occurs we ask that you utilize one of our sister sites
http://zdriver.com
http://g35driver.com

The exact amount of downtime will depend on how long it takes for the data to be processed and for the DNS to switch over.

This upgrade has been long overdue but is now coming.

I will try to keep you posted as we get closer to the upgrade.

Hey Kyle,

When we move, do you think you could get the WAP browser addon (so I can post/access the forums from my cell) and also get some sort of RSS/XML feed addon as well? That'd kick ***!

Pretty exciting stuff! Can't wait to see what aesthetical changes we have coming...

I think VB3 refers to the vBulletin software v.3...

good call yobri....it's not visual basic 3, that software is like 10 years old. yobri, that's a cool avatar, makes me wish i didn't live in northeastern pa, shift_norcal is so much better than shift_nepa, lol. Plus what am I gonna use for a logo? trees? certainly not the golden gate! That's it, i'm outta here!

If you wanna check out a site that does a great job with using VB3 (vBulletin 3), then you should go here:

http://www.mustangevolution.com/forum/

I used to be an admin of this site and helped the webmaster coordinate getting all the goodies/addons/mods setup.

A particularly cool mod is called vB Garage which allows forum members to submit their car specs, timesheets, photos, vids, etc. and then each time they post a message, a link to their car specs is put under their avatar etc.

Sharum, the accessing my350z through your cell phone, is it basically like a pocket pc browser? If so, i'd be all up for that, it gets to be a PITA using my pocket pc to moderate the forums.

I agree with the cell phone addition. That'd be kool. That way if you get stranded on the side of the road you can access the forums to find out what's wrong with your car! LOL

But seriously, then we could all get on here even more!
Like I'm not lurking on these forums enough.

Well, PocketPC's have a version of Internet Explorer (or so I hear, I don't actually own one) called Pocket Internet Explorer. And I believe that can render normal webpages just fine.

What I'm talking about is using the good old WAP browser built into many wireless internet enabled cell phones. A cell phone forum I go to http://www.howardforums.com has this enabled and they use vBulletin as well. Basically, you can enter their URL on your wap browser (cell phone) and pull up a stripped down version which is good enough to access PM's, read posts, reply, etc. No image viewing obviously, but basic enough to browse when away from a computer (or pocket pc)
