Default whats the difference in performance between the JL 10 w3 and w6?

Im new to this audio mod because i never really need to enjoy music in a car until now because i drive so freaking much.

Im planning on installing a 10" sub. Yes just one 10 not two.

I've been wanting to buy a 10w6v2 but someone also said a 10w3 will be effencent enough since your only running one sub and your not hear much of a diffeence if you get a 10w6 since your only running one sub.

So can kind person help me out here. Which sub should i get and why. Also if you have another opinon on a sub let me know.

Thanks

There's quite a big difference between the two subs. The w3v2 is a more efficient sub. If you can afford the w6v2 and a better amp, IMO it's worth it. If you're not looking to spend that much on a sub and amp, the w3v2 is still a very good option.

It depends on what your looking for and planning on spending. Car audio said the W6 was the best sub they ever tested, not that is saying something. What kind of amp you looking to get? All this matters but remember, bass is like a drug. No matter how much you have you always want more

I say get a W7, you will be happy

The W7 is a great SPL sub. IMO, the W6v2 is is a better SQL sub.

I have a w3 running off a JL 250 sub amp installed in a sealed box under the strut bar brace. JL makes great subs, so you won't go wrong with any of them. I chose the w3 over the w6 because of the price & size. The w6 is pretty deep and won't fit in just anyplace.

The w3v2s are very efficient subs. Not power hungry like the w7.

Then give it more power but seriously mine works just fine in a SQ setup. Got it in a sealed box, and powered by a Zapco 1000 and symbilinks.

Have you had a chance to listen to Xtant amps? I'm wondering how Xtant compares to Zapco. No Zapco or Focal dealers in Hawaii.

It depends on type of music too . Bass low's high's its all different for different types of music. W6 will hit hard as heck with the right amp thus causing ground shaking bass(maybe not that hard).W3v2 Doesnt take as much power to sound good but not as much BASS , so I decided to go with the 12w3v2 hits harder than the 10 inch sub but not like the 10w6 or 10w7 but sounds better than other subs out there
