Default Bose tweeter change out

Hey folks,

I bought the new Pathfinder with the Bose premium sound. (I know, I knew better, but with the opening lease special the price of the extra packages were tough to pass by)

I'd like to make a couple of tweaks to improve the sound quality without going too far into my Z mod budget. I have read in this forum that you cannot trade out the bose speakers for after-market speakers without changing out the Bose amp first. I believe the only reason this is stated is the Ohm difference 2 versus 4. Couple of questions:

1. Is the ohm difference the only reason folks say this? If so, I could put a 4 ohm tweeter in the place of a Bose 2 ohm twiddler and just pull half the amps, agreed?

2. Does anybody have any experience bridging the Bose amps? If I can't get enough sound out of the 4 amp tweeter, I thought I would purchase high quality full range 6X9s for the doors and bridge the door speaker and dash tweeter amp outputs on each side of the car. In my thinking, bridiging the two signals would double the output to the door speaker. Given that the new 6X9s would be at 4 ohms (instead of the Bose 2 ohms) and I wouldn't be running a tweeter in the dash, the pull on the amp would be the same as when I started. Opinions?

not sure about all your bridging & such but its to my understanding that the bose speakers can be swapped out. the newer bose systems arent like the old ones with an odd ohm rating. i was talking with another member here who swapped his doors, rears & tweeters for aftermarket. he said the sound improved but the key element to the sound quality is the head unit. once he changed his head unit he said it was night & day. i too was asking about swapping out thefactory speakers & wanted to know how to when i got sevral pms from this member. ive since deleted the pms from earlier this year & cant remember his name.....hope this helps!
