Default Tweeter install

I have been reading the posts here and appreciate the 'community' that has grown up here and want to 'do my part'. I installed Infinity's 60.5cs component speakers and thought that someone may like to see how I installed my tweeters. Thanks to the posts on 'how to remove the door panels' and the various posts on using the stock speaker rings to install deeper speakers in the doors.

Awesome! These are 1" tweeters right? When you mention putty and plastic bondo, what exact products did you purchase?

My install was very similar. Unfortunately, I am work right now and cant post any pictures of them up right now.

I will try and get some up when I am home to go along with eTraxx's. Nice job on the install though, looks very clean.

They are really about 1 1/2" dia ...

I'll have to clear that us some. I made my own *plastic bondo* by putting the scraps of plastic from cutting the hole into a bottle of Testor's cement. Plastic model cement (Testors is just one I picked up) work by melting the plastic. You are actually *welding* the plastic together. Therefore, by *melting* the plastic in the bottle of Testors you get what is .. well .. *liquid plastic*. When you use it for a filler .. once the solvent (cement) evaporates all that is left is the plastic .. and .. since the solvent in the *bondo* also welds everything together .. you end up with .. plastic! Cool huh?

Thanks. It came out pretty good .. just wish I had taken more photos. One thing for anyone trying to take photographs of a dark plastic, I think that instead of using the flash it might be better to use some kind of fill light(s) .. would allow detail without the glare a flash makes.
