Also, where is the factory one located?

 

All these people on here with a satellite radio setup and noone knows where they installed it.
Come on guys I need ideas.

 

I think the factory system is located in the trunk near the
drivers side tail light.

 

I put mine where the glove box used to be. Take out the glove box, theres a lot of room to mount stuff behind it and then put the glove box back in.

Some people installed it under the passenger seat, I'll be placing mine under there as well.

 

Ive thought about doing it under the seat but im not sure thats where i want to put it.
I would really like to put mine where the factory mounts theirs.
The problem is ive never seen a pic or an install.
Id like to see what it looks like.

 

I had mine installed at Best Buy and the guy put the brains in the dash behind my receiver somewhere. I have the antenna in the middle of my dash right by the windshield and it works great. You don't even notice it.

I just had my Kenwood DDX 7015 installed with Kenwood Sirius brains installed yesterday (what a great Xmas gift), they installed the brain behind the dash under the head unit. I had them mount the antenna mounted in the cnter of the dash under the plastic, the installer had never done it before, but when he had the car apart he found that thier was a great spot for it. I found out about this from a post on this site, installer drove it in areas that may lose signal if it was ?? mount area and it worked great

 

I have the same setup that i got a little before christmas.
So this may be where I install mine.
Mike make sense to do it there.
I was talking to tony@ performance and he said he thought factory was done under the pass seat but if it will work where you have it I might do it there.
It would be an easier install there for sure.

 

Ya sorry, my camera is out of commission so I don't have pics. There are a couple of other guys that have some somewhere on here. I think you'll see when you get behind the dash, it will go in fine. Mine is XM but I believe both brains are similar sizes. I have my antenna on top of my dash and it looks fine, I guess under would be even better!
