I like that Eclipse HU w/ navi. I believe you're able to use dvd while navi is on.

The answer depends on your ears.

Best car stereo is a pretty vague question but it really depends on what you are lookin to do as far as audio goes. You could spend anywhere from $100-several $1000's and be completely happy. For example my new HU only cost $400 but it was the best fit for my needs and I love it! It had a good power rating, nice look, matched interior fairly well, and had 3 rca pre-outs which was a big factor for me for future installation of amps for subs and components. But some people are all about flashy flashy and spending big money. So my advice to you is make sure YOU are happy and don't worry about impressing anyone else. Just my 2 cents, do with it what you will .

Sony CDX-7705....it's great for now and i love the finish on it, looks very crisp and clean i'm not much for all the flashy stuff. And like i said it has 3 RCA pre-outs which is nice. I hate the little cubby underneath though but after i put my subs in i'm going to put a dvd player underneath the HU so that will take care of that. Until then here's a pic of the new HU.

and another view

I have the Alpine IVA-D300 and absoultly love it! About an hour after I got home from getting it installed I started running cables for a playstation (now installed) and my next project is to add a 19" LCD to the inside of the trunk lid. It's so easy to expand because the brain has all the inputs/outputs you need.

just bought a new z on december 20... and the 24th i gave myself a little christmas present.... i have the pioneer avh-6600dvd with the avic-88dvd navi.... it works so beautifuly; touch screen, switch between dvd and nav without removing disk, voice activation, great sound... i also have xm installed on it... probably not the best but it will work well beyond all expectations...

the best is to have a decent deck (with RCA inputs) and a PC... you can have dvd, nav, mp3....heck... you dont even need cds nor dvds, all can be uploaded wirelessly from your home PC... i find it the cheapest way to have everything you need in your car, for just a little over $1000 (or less, depends on what parts you already have)

Im working on it right now, looking for the best car PSU that would keep the constant power, and have auto start up, and shut down...

the project will probably done sometimes closer to the summer...

for amps go with zapco they are the best for the money they use line drivers which balance the output and increase signal up to 14 volts to lower noise
