Default Custom Console Glare?

This question is for you few folks that have scrapped the stock nav "cubby" in favor of a custom center console with permanently installed monitors like so:

and the one I really want to do:

Is there a problem with glare from the sun during the afternoon? I live in Arizona, where the Sun is ALWAYS a factor. Do you guys with monitors installed in the cubby ever have glare problems? Any of you with the custom consoles - what is the largest monitor you have been able to sqeeze on there?

Thanks!

the larget monitor i can squeeze in is 10". I cut out all the 3 gauges and relocate them elsewhere. Put the 10" in that area. If you just want to use the same slot of nav then it should be 7" max. (without any custome fiberglass)

you WILL GET glare problem with the monitor in that picture. If you don't want to have glare, just replace the nav LCD to another monitor (keep the nav box)

Default Custom Console Glare?

a 10" monitor? Wow - I would love to see some pictures of your installation.

Do you think I would get a glare if I switch to limo-tint on my windows? Maybe tinted the top portion of the windshield a little darker as well? I really want to toss the nav cubby and go with a custom installation like the one in that picture.

skirby015, is that suede covering your console? WOw! Who did the custom fabrication for you? I may have to travel to LA to get this type of work done - haven't heard of many installers in my area (Phoenix) who have the experience...

Is that monitor a touch screen? So far I've only seen an Alpine 6.5" that meets my needs (I need the touch screen for the Nav/Computer).

skirby015, you have an Xbox too? I would love to see some more pics of your interior and system. I tried to email streetsound, but they never got back to me. I might head up there to get my console done if I go that route. I am struggling to decide whether to go with the modded xbox or simply use a standard computer. Do you have more shots of it? Any advice or knowledge you could impart

Default CF Dash

Someone on this board gave me this site after I asked the same question about where to get the cf custom dash - I emailed them but have not heard back yet. I don't know how they would do this for me unless I was located near them; doesn't look like a job for which you can send the parts in the mail. Do a search for carbon fiber dash and you will probably find the thread.
