Installing Nav. Have some ?'s
I'm installing the alpine nav and wanted to know if anyone knew where the reverse wire, speed sensor wire and the parking brake wires are. Also what is the purple wire for?
Thanks,
Matt

I believe the Z's speed sensor wire goes into that white box behind the climate control panel. Not sure on the color, but it's one of them.
Hopefully someone else can tell you which one. I know it's been discussed a lot, so a search might turn it up.
I believe the reverse wire in the nav unit can actually just be connected to a wire going to the backup lights. When the backup lights come on, that sends 12 volts down the wire and signals the nav unit that you're going backwards.
As far as the parking brake wire, I'd presonally recommend just grounding that wire permanently (the one going to the nav unit). This tells the nav unit that the parking brake is always activated, allowing you to use the menus while moving. If you hook it up to the actual brake wire you won't be able to use many of the features unless the parking brake is active. Safety thing.
