Default DDX7015 in the stock nav location?

hello.. tried searching the forums but i still couldnt find the answer... every picture of the DDX7015 ive seen here shows the screen installed where the stock HU used to be instead of up where the stock nav would be...

my question is: is it possible to install the DDX7015 in the stock navi area and still be able to close the door and hide the screen when not in use?

i want to be able to keep my stock stereo in the same area as a decoy... i live in LA and ive had my system jacked before and dont want something like that to happen again

someone tried it at one point (I don't remember who) and there was not enough space for the depth of the HU.

can u guys recommend any other nice nav/dvd units i can use in that space? id rather have the lcd screen in that space than the area where the stock HU is...and i also want to be able to close the door to hide the screen... i want it to look completely stock when the door is closed.

I cannot remember who did it or where I saw it, but I did see a Z owner that butchered the stock radio and removed the front plate of the HU. He then installed his aftermarket HU deeper than normal. Once he had that he used the front face of the old HU as a decoy. It did nothing, it was just there to look like it was stock. It seemed to work quite well.

If I stumble across it in the future I will post it up again.
