Default Newbie Question About Navi/DVD Systems

Hi, I'm looking to install a Navigation/DVD System in a Z. My only two requests are 1) The Navi system talks to me (preferably in a hot female voice lol) and 2) I can use the DVD system while the car is in drive. What are your recommendations? What am I looking to pay on something like this?

Default Re: Newbie Question About Navi/DVD Systems

Pioneer AVIC N1 or N2 will talk to you...not so hot female voice. It's an adder over the base system but I think it's only $50 for the mike.

I just spent over $7K on my total system...DVD/nav, 3 amps, 3 subs, alarm, hard wired radar, XM, speakers, etc...the headunit is available from $1500-2000. If you're self installing and using the stock Bose system...you could probably get 'er done for about $1600-1700 with the Pioneer N2.

By law, you cannot watch the DVD while in motion. Ground wire tothe parking brake must be made inorder to operate. Now, a ground wire can be permanently made, so it works...but if you crash while watching ****, your insurance company will laugh at you while you lose everything and go to jail.

I have 2 Pioneers, (N1 & N2)...love them both. Highly recommend these units.
