My Passport 8500 keeps blowing out the fuse for the power adapter, has anyone else had this problem?

 

never had a problem with the 8500 for a yr, i sold that and got the 8500 x50 and don't have a problem with that either

 

Likewise. Have had the Z for just over a year and have never had a problem with my 8500. I don't know how long you've had it but the 8500 comes with a one year warranty. See if it works in another vehicle. If not, you should get Escort to have a look at it. If it does, if you've made any mods that tapped into you're electrical system, you should probably check them out.

 

I have had the detector for quite a while and never had a problem with it in any of my other cars, this problem started before I did any mods to the car.
