![Question](https://my350z.com/forum/images/icons/icon5.gif)
I'm thinking about installing a Sirius Sporster Receiver in my 04' Roadster. I plan on having it installed in the empty navigation compartment and using the PAC AAI-NIS interface to connect it to my Bose head unit to avoid the FM modulation issues.
My question is regarding the fit of the Sportster and the cradle that it sits in when it gets installed in the Navi compartment. Is the Navi. compartment large enough to allow me to remove the Spotster from it's cradle so I can use it in another car or will I have to leave it in the compartment. I realize that the compartment is a little larger in the front part and gets a little smaller towards the back. However, all of the photos of 350Z installs I have seen on this forum do not show the actual fit clear enough to determine if there is enough room to lift it out of it's holder.
Can someone out there give me a little help???
Many Thanks in Advance!!!

I have Audiovox PNP. It fits very tight & that is why I decided to keep it as a permanent unit & not risk damaging the unit taking it off & on. You may want to just get a 2nd receiver. Try this site they have member specials:

The Sirius Sportster Replay is a small unit that can easily be removed and taken from car to car. IMO the Sportster is too tall since it needs the cradle. Unless you sink the sportster base into the nav compartment, it's going to be a tight squeeze, if not too tall. Check out the Sportster Replay, I have one and prefer the smaller size to the larger Sportster. It's on sale too and definitely worth a look. :-)

I got this in an email from Sirius...an additional 10% off and that's on top of the rebates. Here's the link: http://bm.sirius.com/ajtk/servlet/JJ...1&R=1356099541
It's valid until 11/30.

I have just installed the sportster in the navi compartment.
This was no easy feat but will work.
1. Take apart the car kit completely..EVERY screw...
You will be left with the base that the reciever fits into..
there will be a plastic part that hangs below the green circuit board.
2. Saw this off so it is flush with the board...(Be careful not to cut the board)
3. Find the thread on this forum on taking the dash apart.
4. Drill holes in the back of the Nav box and run all the wires under the shifter section.
5. I used velcro to hold in the reciever while I drive which allows me to take out for home use.
I know this sounds like a totally rigged job but I will post pics soon.
It looks like the pic that is posted on this thread with another receiver.
