PAC AAI-NIS needed for Ipod hookup?
In my ’04 Touring I have the satellite ready unit so I wanted to hookup my Ipod Mini to it. Probably the more difficult way, but in getting better sound I noticed that the PAC AAI-NIS will allow a direct hookup into the radio. I’d rather do this than have an FM transmitter. But do I need this piece in the first place or can I hook the Ipod directly to the radio without getting the PAC? I noticed that the PAC allows you to split to up to 2 devices on the satellite channels, but am really only interested in just the Ipod Mini.
Also, what would I need to purchase on the Apple side to get the Ipod to play? Meaning how does it hook into the PAC unit?
Much thanks for any info!

The AAI-NIS is the best way to hook up your ipod. You could just get a cable that has RCA's on one side for the PAC and a stereo jack on the other side for the IPOD (i.e Headphone Jack). I'll be installing the PAC for my in car PC so I can play MP3's directly from the PC and use the other PAC AUX line for my XM MyFi.
