Default Looking for a subwoofer setup under $350..

So I mainly listen to trance and electronic, and I figured a 10" sub is more then enough... only one problem.

I dont want to goto any installers and have them choose one for me, I really dont know too much about subs.

I am looking to get the "under-strut box" for a 10" sub, and am looking to spend no more than $350 for the sub with installation. Could some of you that are more then happy with your setup under $350 tell me what you got so I can have some idea of what to get?

and is there too much airspace in this box for one sub?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ayphotohosting

Thanks in advance.

You can get a bass tube. That box is half your budget... You still need A sub and amp and wires. + If you want everyting to come out that cheap then you need to install cheap stuff. in the end you might not like how it sounds and it would just be a waist of $$.
I would say save, then get a good amp and good sub.

Type E's are Alpines starter subs and should be good for what your looking for. Good price, too. But you need to figure on about $100 for wire (power, ground, remote and most importantly good RCA's) and then install which will run you around $50-70 depending on the shop that you go to. And anything custom will certainly make the price go up. Oh, and does that package deal come with a box?

Infinity basslink all the way. Go to a Circut City and listen to one. It's a great deal and it can fit in the stock sub location.

You can get a JL Audio 10W1 and an E1200 amp and box within your budget and it will sound great and really improve on what you already have. If you are interested PM me and I'll give you the details.

You can find a used Alpine Type R 10" on ebay for under $100. Or a new Elemental Designs 11kv2 for $115 shipped. I have that sub in my daily driver and it's amazing how clean it sound for it's price.

I don't listen to trance/electronic, but I imagine that you would need something that's quick. Look into some 8s. 3 would be ideal, but it's a little out of your budget. You could get away with just 2 in a sealed enclosure.

A 8" 10" or 12" will all provide the "quickness" he is looking for given a well designed driver and box.

JL W1s are overpriced in this category. Go for a Image Dynamics IDQ10" or maybe if you can fit it, a JL10W6 is a great subwoofer if you can stretch the $$ that far.

I've got a custom fiberglass box with a 10" subwoofer (similar to a Kove Armageddon) for sale. Many of the San Diego members have heard this and were very impressed with it. .. its fits in your budgets

it's an 8-layer 3" coil .... I'd say she's good for a friendly 2kW.

JBL 1200.1 can't find its limits yet.

Thanks for the help you guys..

i have it sitting in the trunk right now. as soon as i have the time and the weather is nice, it's going in the stock location. i did a lot of research on putting it in the stock location. everyone else who has done it used a lot of dynamat to seal off the area. it makes sense to do it. the vibrations will be a lot less. you have to be very careful when you're mounting it. i read that soneone had they gas tank punctured by circuit city.

as far as the sound, it's plenty for me. at full blast with the car parked in front of the house, i can feel it on the other side of the house. it's not the loudest sub in the world but it delivers a good punch if you set everything right.

OK. I'm talking in the neighborhood of 1200 watts rms. Whats the impedance on the voice coils.... PLEASE says it can be wired to 2 ohms...
