do i need the cross over if i just use the stock wires
ok i got some component speakers but to save wieght and money im selling the amp i was gunna use and just powering them off the hu. do i still need to use that cross over thing or can i just use the old wires as they are. should i find the main wires in to the door and use the cross over on that or are the signals going to the tweeter and the woofer already fine.
The crossovers that came with the components are meant for your new speakers specifically, and they will not sound anywhere near as good with out it.
You will need to connect it inline with from the output of the HU and then wire to each the tweeter and midbass accordingly.

In non-bose your stock tweeter door has a capacitor soldered on to act as a high pass filter. If you replace it with non stock and don't use a crossover you will be feeding it full range which will stink.

What components did you get? Yah you should keep the amp to power
the front speakers. At least 100 x 2 rms @ 4ohms
