Default whats the differance. amp vs. hu

i know power is the main thing but shouldnt the hu be just as good at low levels as an amp. the speakers i am useing are the alpine type-s componets.

"SPS-171A"
Peak Power 250W
50W RMS Power
Frequency Response: 35Hz 30kHz

the hu is The CDA-9833
60W MAX x 4 V-Drive Power Amplifier

the amp is the MRV-F340

4/3/2 Channel Power Amplifier

?4.4V RMS Continuous Power 2ohm; Stereo (0.3% THD) 65Wx4 4ohm; Bridged (0.3% THD) 130Wx2
12V RMS Continuous Power 4ohm; Stereo (0.08% THD) 35Wx4 2ohm; Stereo (0.3% THD) 45Wx4 4ohm; Bridged (0.3% THD) 90Wx2

what sound quality differances will there be between the two different power options and at what volume will this differances occur.

thanks in advance

The deck has less control over the speaker at any level.

The speaker moves forward as per the amp in the deck. As a result of the coil of the speaker moving in a magnetic field, a voltage(physics blah blah) is created back on the amp. The deck can not handle this on any level be it low or high.

mmmm maybe i will use my amp. but i do like the sound of money from selling it. will it realy be that noticeable of a differance. i mean is it worth the 200 somthing dallors i paid for the amp. the hu has a decent amp in it for a hu i think and my speakers arnt the nicest but there ok, good enough for me. i was thinking about buying a G-TIMER with the money.

I will definitely use the amp. The HU will give you only 26 watts rms while
your amp will give you 55 watts rms @ 14.4v. That's doulbe the power.
With the HU power you will have distortion on the volume when you crank it up.
With the amp you will just have the right wattage for those speakers. While your
installing your speakers put some deadening in the doors too to get rid of the
speaker panel distortion and get better sound.

how loud wouold i have to crank it to get it to distort 95%? but your shure it would sound $200 dollars better if i used the amp. it would have to sound encredibly better for me to use the amp. im not trying to win any compitions i just think that $200 could be better spent. ...like a G-TIMER.

i also have the alpine coaxil speakers in the back and if i amp the front i guess i would amp them too.

The control the seperate amp will have will make a 200 dollar difference easily.

I wouldnt amp the rears. I would bridge the channels on the 4 channel to a 2 channels and run more power to the speakers. Again, the amp will have much more control over the speaker this way.

If you insist on running the rear speaker, run them on deck power.
