hey guys...I'm not too familiar with audio/visual upgrades, so hoping you could help me out.

I'm thinking of first getting a HU (Alpine IVA-D300) and a Type-X sub in the trunk first...Do you think it will sound alright with the factory speakers and all? Or would it be very imbalanced and the bass would overpower the sound? Any input would be greatly appreciated as I am dumb in regards to sound systems. Thanks!

btw I listen mostly to hip-hop and rock...like eminem, jay-z, tupac, 50 cent, linkin park, etc... if that makes a difference.

i think it will be alright for now. Eventually you'll want to upgrade!

my friend actually did a similar setup. aftermarket HU, stock bose speakers, and an infinity perfect 10 powered to spec.

sounds pretty good. bass was strong, but not too overwelming. just gotta play with the eq to balance the sound out.

 

I would def suggest upgrading the interior speakers and amplifying them down the road , but until then just play with the sensitivity adjustments of the sub amp to match up the sound.
