Default Help Please

I'm hoping someone here has either had this problem or knows a "fix" for it.

When using the RCA inputs on the Kewood DDX7015 I can only get a Black and White picture when I plug in either my Playstation or Xbox.

I know the problem isn't with the cable's as when I plug my PC or other devices in, I get full colour.

Anyone know of this issue or how to fix it???

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There's nothing in the manual regarding this but I guess it is a possibility. The Playstation and Xbox are PAL.

If this is the case is there anything that can be done?

Yikes.

There are huge differences in PAL and NTSC signals - mostly in the color portion of the signals. Phase Alternating Line and Never The Same Color (twice) use different color reference signals and there is no simple way to convert between the two. It might be cheaper to buy a second game machine from Japan, The Phillipines, or America that is NTSC.

I remember how bad the import duties were in Australia so I feel for ya'. I lived up in Exmouth for two years (Go Eagles!)

nope your screwed as far as I know. The biggest difference in PAL and NTSC is the framerates and pixel aspect ratio. NTSC runs at 29.97 fps whereas PAL only runs at 25. it does this because of the diffences in american and..well..everyone elses poweroutlets. Also NTSC standard pixel ratio is 640x480 and PAL is 720x586

As to why its showing up black and white only with no other difficulties is beyond me, but its definatly a compatablity issue.

OK - did a bit more digging and found out that Tacket and Paul 350z are spot on. For those interested here's a link to a simple article as to why the system won't work
http://www.xbreporter.com/xbox_pal_ntsc.php

On a brighter note, here's a product I need to get the system up and running
