Unhappy HELP! i put a hole in my speaker, just a little bit.

ok i had to remove this one screw because the others didnt line up. so i was pushing because other wise the power drill would not grip. then the screw started twisting in the poly fil and foam liner and it whent crooked throwing the drill off and it hit the speaker i have sealed off the incloser that it is in so i think that when it moves air must be forced threw there.

how could i fix this. a little silicone or somthing?
btw its the back speaker

Not the end of the world.

The hole is small and doesn't "short" the speaker's sound waves. A bit of leakage like this is anyoying more than audible. If there's enough gasket left on either side of the hole you might try a bit of "super glue" with a toothpick. If the hole runs from the edge to the cone the super glue is going to rip apart so try the same toothpick treatment with Silcone II kitchen glue.

If you bought them from Circuit City and bought the extended warranty ... it's suppose to cover such damage - at least that's what they told me.

you want something to put on there with equally as much compliance as the surround itself ... I would suggest an inner-tube patch

In a sealed box, this hole is pretty bad .. as you box is no longer technically sealed .. so I would fix it.

Of all things to do, please dont use Liquid Nails
