Default LCD screen choices for the Z

I am putting in a 7" lcd in my 03 soon, and probably won't use it for anything more than xbox/ps2. Maybe get a tv tuner. I want to have a very easy install with no cutting/dremeling if possible.

What do you guys think about this screen as opposed to the nesa or farenheit? Do you see any problems with it? Its a great price, has 3 av inputs, and a vga input in case I ever put in a carputer. It has a 2400x480 resolution. Forgive my lcd screen ignorance, but doesnt this look like a better screen than any other ones out there??

Just the layout of that site and the fact that they say "Beware of imitations!!" tells me that something is wrong with it. It's probably just a poor quality screen. Pixels will probably go bad soon, may not withstand the heat of a car, etc...
And that price...I'd say stay away unless you wanna be a guinea pig and test it out for us. LOL

Hmm...good thoughts. And I'd prefer not to be a guinea pig! Which screen has the best overall picture as far as watching in the daytime, and sharpness?

Farenheit screens seem to be the favorite on this forum...must be saying something about quality and ease to install. Everyone just sticks it in the hole and tapes it to stay.

7 inchers can fit in the nav cubby?? hey, im looking for a screen for the nav cubby... I read that alpine-TME 5.8 inchers fit perfectly...
so... how can 5.8 inchers fit perfectly if you can fit 7 inchers?? Obviously, id rather have the bigger screen.

So whats the deal??

vitamin z...Ive looked at your stuff before, I like it. I think that is the route I'm going. I also would like to check out the Lilliput 7"...it looks like it has better contrast ratio and the touchscreen. If I am correct the farenheit 7001 is discontinued...was that a touchscreen or did it just have 1 more rca input than the 7000?

The Dynamix 7" Screen Is my choice, it has 2 video inputs and 1 VGA input, super quality and crystal clear pictures.

It fits perfect in the 03 cuby

each to their own. some may like a smaller screen.
but as you read this thread all the 7" screens everyone has posted fit into the 03 cubby.

I am guessing that the Alpine mounts from the front and the whole unit fits in the cubby. The 7" mount from behind and only the screen is visible.

I think...

The problem of course with the monitor you mention Livinitup731 is that it is not a touch screen. If there is one thing I've learned over the years, it's that you should buy what you want, not what you can afford.

If you can't afford it, save up. If you buy what you can afford instead of what you want you will never be happy and will eventually end up buying what you really wanted anyway. This of course means you just wasted a huge chunck of money on something you didn't really want.

VitaminZ: I just looked at the specs for that monitor and they confused me.

It says it's 1400 x 234? That made no sense until I realized they were probably doing that annoying thing where they count each color pixel as a usable pixel. So the monitor is ACTUALLY 400 x 234. That's half the resolution of the Xenarc and Lilliput monitors. I can't find any real info on that monitor though.

Hey my old thread! Well in case anyone cares, I have a Farenheit now and like it a lot. Fit perfect with just a couple pieces of tape to hold it secure. I STILL have an extra one that I will sell for 150 shipped in US if anyone wants it, new in box.

Tap into your stereo 12v using the power wire attached and voila, power.
