Default question with speaker wire

this is a really stupid question but....can you cut and solder speaker wire without killing sound quality? I want to change my tweeter housings and mounts, but dont want to rip my door off and rerun all that wire just to do it. Somethings telling me that I am going to wind up doing just that though....

Yes. Use shrink wrap so you don't have to worry about cheap electrical tape heating up and un wrapping to short out your amp.
