Default No Nav Voice OK?

I am looking to replace my HU and honestly I really don't like the Nav chick always talking to me and muting my music. I find myself constantly clicking the "Map" button to just get her to shut it!!!!! As well the popup they have which notifies you of an up and coming turn is a bit weird. I rather the map so I can see surrounding landmarks.

My question then is can I just forget about the 6v transistor to get the Nav to mute properly and just install the deck?

Will the Nav work fine without the annoying Nav Chick?

Thanks in advance

Note: You can hook up an aux speaker directly to the output of the nav (no amp) and still have voice when you want it. (You can turn it off via the nav menu) If you plan on useing only front speakers, use the rears for the voice. If you want to mount an aux speaker, put a 5" or so speaker under the pas. side dash (thats what I did.)
