After researching the ipod hookup "thing" and with marginal success with the FM transmitter, I went back to low tech. I bought a cassette adaptor ($20 WOW!!) and it works great (assuming you have the tape player). Plus when I travel, I don't have to keep resetting the station all the time. There is a little static heard between songs (hey 1980's technology) but much like the FM trans., turn up the volume on the ipod at least 1/2 - 3/4 full. Then use the car volume controls and during playback it sounds pretty good.
