Default Interesting discovery, gps antennas?

Hi guys,

Was just cleaning up my stereo install and noticed something interesting. Pushed back a little bit in the dash, I seem to have found some sort of antennas. One of them is labeled "Trimble" and the other one is a saucer-shaped disc with a little H on it. Are these antennas for the factory GPS? I bought my car used a while ago and I suppose there's a possibility of the previous owner selling the gps before I bought the car. It does look like its wired up still, though I did not trace the wires completely.. they seem to be secured down already.

Here's some pics:

Looks like he might of had an aftermarket GPS system in. Do you have factory nav?

Nope, no factory nav. I doubt Nissan would use another company's antenna for the factory nav, so i'm assuming its aftermarket as well. Or hell, it could be the FBI tracking me

I was thinking the saucer shaped one could be for the keyless, but it seems way too large and I'd assume it would have sort of nissan labeling on it and it wouldn't have been half-assed rolled up with a rubber band.

I'd trace the wires or get a volt meter to see if they are hooked up to anything...you never know. It could be an elaborate scam. Hmm...the plot thickens. LOL

Could it be an antenna for an anti-theft service like Lo-Jack?

Nope, Lo-Jack uses a small rubber whip like antenna. The link above shows plenty of Trimble GPS antennas that look like the picture.

I'm gonna pull everything apart tuesday when I'm off from work again. I was in a hurry so I didn't get a chance to fully trace them. I also could not find any sort of markings on them that would imply any sort of model number.

Looked on that website, and I came up with this:

http://www.trimble.com/mini3vant.html

and apparently it is related to this product:

I'm guessing the circuit board is still in there. Guess I'll find out Tuesday!
