Default Need pics of aftermarket stereo in Z or G...

Do any of you guys have pics of an aftermarket head unit with a flip-up screen installed in your Z or G? For those in the know, is there any specific head unit better than another or one that is most worth the money or is it just pretty much "you get what you pay for"?

Do the steering wheel controls for the radio become useless or can they be wired in?

You do get what you pay for...to a point. Once you're into the $300+ range I think they're all the same quality-wise. There's a killer Sony HU that matches the look of the Z's interior with circular ***** and what-not.

I personally like the controls on Alpine's.

And I assume you can get steering wheel controls on a G? Can't on a Z. I don't see why you couldn't wire them in on a decent HU.

The Eclipse AVN5435 has it now that you can wire the steering wheel remote into the headunit at no extra cost. What you will have to do is get the dealer (Eclipse Authorized) and have them use an Eclipse remote to program it. I don't know if this is true, because the downloaded copy of the manual does not indicate any reference to this. But this only the operation menu, not the installation menu. '

Also, next year's Z --2006 will have steering wheel controls.

Also, check out different models from Eclipse, Alpine, Pioneer, and Kenwood. I personally prefer Alpine and Eclipse. There are many good priced models. If you want Nav and don't want to spend alot of $$$$, Eclipse has the 8455 which is a competion piece w/ 8 volt preout and DSp for 599.00.
