6.5" 2 way component sys for my z
I was bent on getting the DLS but after reading more about them people are saying they lack midbass. I've heard the focal utopia and it sounds way too bright for me. I listen to alot of hip hop jazz and r&b, alot of radio stuff too. So if i want a 2 way 6.5" system with decent low/mid bass what should i go with?
I'm looking at the BA pro 60 now. Stuff like Seas lotus and morel elate (which i cant find anywhere online) are a little too expensive for me (700-800). I'm really looking to spend maybe $400. If there's a really good looking set maybe $500-600.

the BA speakers will be bright if not brighter than the utopias...
Alpine Type X are nice...tweeter can be bright but the phasing stuff one can do with the cross is impressive and the tweeter can be cut down a significant amount enough to reduce the bright tweeter
I have heard of fitment issues with those however...

While I'm still on the subject of comps does anyone have the new phoenix gold xenon amps? I found a website that carries it predecessor the Ti amplifier which looks 100000x better. I've always wanted a Ti but I'm wondering if any significant improvements were made on the xenon.

IMO the xenons are degenerate from the old Ti series amps. I wouldnt buy anything new from PG. just ask Ahsmo. I have seen alot of those new xenons go bad.

Ti has thus far proven to be much better, that is reliable.
PG just canned cardomain because they violated a contract by advertising bellow map. So all their remaining PG gear is on sale I would assume.
I own the biggest 4 channel and the biggest mono block amp in the Xenon line. Both are fine, the first 200.4 I had blew up. The 1200.1 has held up. Yes the Ti's looks blow the Xenon out of the water. The biggest disappointment with PG now is the fact that no plans are in the works for a new amp design(or any other design) that I am aware of. PG is now going to "try a bit harder" with their home audio stuff from what I understand...which makes sense. The car audio market sucks to say the least.
PG and I have a few little bones to pick yet so until that is resolved I dont recommend PG products to anyone.

PPI was bought by Directed Electronic Inc.... DEI is a monster that ruins great products and companies like PPI.
Old PPI amps are outstanding.

lol PG goin down the gutter eh? I think I'm gonna pick up an old ti600.2 anyways. I'm not gonna push this amp and blow it like my old memphis 1000D that hard so I think it's gonna last me, plus I love the look too much.
