Default Help removing just the Sub woofer

There is a creaking noise coming from what I think is the sub woofer from my 05 roadster. Another member had the same problem and it went away when he took the sub out and put it back in and refastened the screws.

Is there a non complicated way to remove just the sub? Everything I've found talks about gutting out the entire rear.

Thanks.

1. Pry open the subwoofer grill with a flat blade screw driver from the top - just gently work the blade into the gap of the square frame that surounds the speaker grill.

2. Remove the four screws holding the subwoofer.

3. Replace it with something better - I mean look at the thing.

4. Replace screws and cover.

Yea, if you're gonna go thru that you may as well put a better free-air sub there. It's not that hard...

OK, got it done last night. I just put a flat blade under the whole plastic cover, and "pop" there she went. Too easy. Tightened the screws (which were lose) and bye bye creaky noise. You don't know how releaved I am. It was driving me insane.

Is there a reasonably priced sub that is a direct bolt on?
