Default Nissan releases car navigation system for iPod

July 20, 2005 - 07:11 EDT Nissan today announced that it has started marketing a car navigation system that allows drivers to connect an iPod to the Nissan vehicles, reports Tokyo Today. "The new navigation system, backed by a designated iPod connector, gives drivers in-car control of their iPods through its 7-inch touch screen display, Nissan said." The system, which sells for 315,000 yen, features Nissan's CARWINGS telematics service and also allows drivers to play CD/MD/DVDs.

Sounds cool but kinda pricey. 350,000 yen equal $2,791 I think.

You don't think an extra 791 is a lot for an ipod adaptor? BMW doesn't even charge that much.

It sounds to me like the complete NAV system would be different not just an adaptor...but I digress, if it ever makes it here I'm sure it would be priced competitively for this market.

In the UK for example the base Z sells for the equivalent of $44,813.7 U.S. dollars OTD!
