Alpine or Pioneer??
I'm looking around for a new HU, and I came to a conclusion that alpine and pioneer makes good HU's. After some thought I came down to these two units:
PREMIER 960MP
ALPINE 9835
My friends have a lot of pioneer units, but I haven't seen alpine around as much. Can you guys give me suggestions from your own expierences? any other helpful comments will be appreicated. TIA

I have had both Pioneer and Alpine
I have had the Pioneer 7600 or something like that. I had it in my Toyota Tacoma with the factory speakers. It sounded great in the Truck with the factory stuff.
In my Z I have the Alpine 9855. I love the Alpine 9855. It did not sound to good with the factory crap though. The Alpine had to be hooked up with a wiring harness to the BLOSE crap, which is amplified. So by the time you got to volumne level 3, it was to loud. I have since run new speaker wire and put in Polk Audio DB's 6.5 inch 2 way speakers. I have two pair and will put them in all four locations. (Circuit City 1st pair 99 and second pair 1/2 off). Currently I have only taken the time to hook up one speaker, the others are discounected. And I must say that, one Polk Audio db 2way speaker, mounted in the drivers door, hooked up directly to the Alpine 9855 is alot better than the entire bLOSE system.
If you plan on adding amps or speakers later, I would go with the Alpine. If you plan on just a head unit I would consider the Pioneer. I think Alpine is geared more towards working with qaulity products (ie: after factory) and Pioneer works well with quality and factory.
