Default Factory HU tested with Oscilloscope (Helpful Info)

Hey guys, just figured I would post some helpful info. I currently am installing a system in my mother's track Z. I am using her stock HU and a David Navone LOC to convert to RCA's. Anyhow, I used my oscilloscope to test the factory HU to determine where it starts to clip. The MAX clean volume is 20. Above that, the higher frequencies start to clip. Also, with the David Navone LOC, I was able to achieve an average of about 4volts per channel at volume 20. That is better than some aftermarket Hu's. Just thought you would like to know.

I found the same thing with my Navone LOC. Very good component. I did not have an O-scope, but from ear I can tell you that the Factory HU has some serious clipping issues.
