Default 12 inch sub in factory bose location

Hi everyone,

I have a dilema. I've tried searching for this, but can't find anything except 10 inch subs in factory location instead of a 10 inch bose sub.

This is what I was thinking about. I will be building a good system down the road, but untill I get enough $$$ it will be few months. In the mean time, I have couple kenwood subs (I know by far not the best) sitting around and the bose sub is driving me nuts! (it busses like crazy - plastic resonating with sound of music).

Does anyone know if it would be possible to mount the 12 inch sub in that location behind driver seat?

If it is, any pictures/diagrams that might help. Also, if not - why not? is it phisical space? Air space?

Thanks in advance, and sorry if it seems redundunt.

There's plenty of room behind there but the bracket is pretty heavy gauge steel and is cut for the 8". Why not buy/build a cheap square box to toss in the back for your 12"? When you're done take the thing out and connect it to your home computer.

This thread has some amplifiers mounted behind where the plate use to be.

Thank you very much!!!

That thread helped quite a bit. My friend is actually telling me to put the cheap subs in proper box (the way I would have the ones I actually want to put in) and then swap them out, but I don't know if I want to go through that right now. I still use the trunk quite a bit.

I will pull the thing apart this weekend and see what's what, but those pictures sure helped!
