Default Wiring tips for sub/amp install

Going to be installing a powered basslink in the hatch this weekend and wanted to get some wiring tips so things go smoothly. I have a link for running the power wire down the passenger side, but a few q's... I presume running the RCA's and remote turn-on up the middle console is the best route? Are there any good locations in the rear behind the seats to run wiring unseen from the hatch? Also, what would be the best location to ground the amp in the hatch area? Basslink will be placed right behind the strut bar.

You'll need a dedicated +12v cable all the way from the battery through a fuse and then through the passenger compartment to the amplifier. You want to keep your ground wire as short as possible but to a good well connected spot of the frame/body. I used an area that forms the rear wheel well as it was bolted very solidly to a whole bunch of the rest of the unibody. You want to scrape the paint clear of the area to expose lots of medal. I used a special grounding block that has three screws to give good grip and bonding to the bare medal below. Use the same size cable as the +12VDC line for your ground wire.

I like the RCA's and turn-on wire in the middle but would want them seperated so that the turn-on surge current didn't pass through to the RCA cables.

If you want to cut your carpet you can come up from just below the rear strut bar by taking out either the luggage compartment cubby behind the passenger's seat or the stock subwoofer from behind the driver's seat. You can get pretty far back in that area - just beware that the gas tank is between this area and the rear axle - you don't want to be drilling down into anything here.

I'm not interested in cutting my carpet and you might not be either so why not try coming in from the side where the rear wheel well cover is? You could use some of that poly-mesh or split-looming to protect the wires on the way to the basslink.
