Please Help With Silly Question!
how do i hook up my amplifier to be mono? do i attach both +'s together and both -'s together, or vice versa? PLEASE help, i am almost finished with my install
well to start off..what type of a amp do you have? how many channels?is it 2 ohm or 1 ohm stable? Also the term "mono"means 1 channel,so what im getting at.you said how do i hook my amp up to be mono..if it's a 2 channel amp and your trying to drive"how many sub's"?? you would have to bridge the amp. most amp's have a diagram on the amp it's self.you really cant wire up a amp to be mono unless it's already a mono amp..hope this doesnt sound to confusing..
yeah i meant bridge, i guess! it is a PPI 300.2 that i am wanting to run 1 MB Quart Reference 10. my amp didn't have any instructions for some reason when i got it (ebay). Mb Quart showed me how to run the speaker correctly, i just need to get the juice to it! so it is a 2 channel amp @ 2ohm, or 300 watts mono @ 4 ohm. does this help?! thanks for all input
Your amp will only run in mono at 4ohms. If your subwoofer is a dual voice coil 2ohm, then you can series wire it to achieve that load. If your subwoofer is a dual voice coil 8ohm, you can parallel wire the sub to get that final 4ohm mono load.
From what I'm reading about your amp, the PPI will only run 2ohm in stereo mode (2 channels). That is NOT the same as 2ohm-mono (1 channel, as stated in another post).
