Default Questions about which sub I should go w/

I am having a hard time deciding which subs to go w/. I have decided to go w/ an Zenclosure from Mike. I am trying to keep price down for now but doesn't mean later down the road I am not going to upgrade.
I have a brand new Sony x-plod amp(which I know isn't the best) rated at 1000 watts peak which is probably around 450 RMS. I also have 2 pioneer subs which require about 1.0 Cu. airspace and Mikes Zenclosure only offers max of .75. So, if I wanted to install those subs in an ZE, im assuming the bass will be very tight but not boomy at all? If I did that, would I want to use just one of the subs or both?
Or, I was thinking about getting just ONE MBQ PWE-252 10'' sub.
Below are the specs on that sub:
Details:

» 10" subwoofer with two 2-ohm voice coils
» treated paper cone with polypropylene dustcap and inverted Santoprene surround
» cast-alloy basket
» power handling: 400 RMS watts (200 watts per voice coil)
» frequency range: 22-300 Hz
» sensitivity: 90 dB
» mounting depth: 5-7/8"
» sealed box volume: 0.75 cu. ft.
» Recommended Q-Logic Box Type: 1
» warranty: 3 years

However, I do want some good bass. I don't know if by just getting a box to accomodate just the one MBQ if im limiting myself to adding another sub later on.

Im curious to know what would sound better, the 2 pioneer's or the one MBQ.
I have a hunch the MBQ would be the winner.
Thanks for anyhelp w/ this!

Which sounds "better"? You'd get more boom with 2 10's and more clarity with the single 10 IMO. I have a single Type-R 10" and depending on how I tune the amp, it's a beast. I can't even imagine 2 10's.

Stick with your Pioneers for now and add a bit of polyfill if you need it. For what you are running, the missing 0.25ft³ won't be very noticeable to the ears. If you feel you do need some polyfill though, just go to your local walmart (or whatever you have similar) and buy a cheap pillow. One pillow should have enough in there for both subs. No point in changing out subs until you tried your Pioneers out.

Now if you REALLY want to get subs that will fit perfect in that tight of an enclosure, look into the Peerless XLS subwoofer. They are about $175 shipped each, and the 10" can go in as little as 0.4ft³ and the 12" can go in something as small as 0.6ft³.

I have always been curious, is there any advantage/disadvantage(other than looks) to having the magnet side facing out?

Could it maybe be if there isn't enough mounting depth, but plenty of air space?

How about some fiberglass enclosures with enough room for up to a 10w7. And they sit flush with strut tower bar front and rear.
