Default Basslink... is it worth it???

i went to circuit city and checked this thing out. i know several people on this forum have this in their stock sub location. i guess its a good way to save some $$$ and is easier to install. but i'm just curious how much bass will actually come out of the small compartment behind the drivers seat. i've heard nothing but positive feedback on this item, does anyone beg to differ??

If you are going to upgrade your speakers, adding better sub with box would be better but in my personal opinion (and experience with Basslink), it works good with stock system.
Some people put really highend sub on stock speaker systems and I feel that bass overtake whole sound. Since stock system doesn't produce high power sound, Basslink works well in its range.

If you order it from online, you can get about 200+ s/h. and install will cost about 60-80. Its worth it for stock system and its not really worth for aftermarket system.

I just recently got the newer version of the basslink and installed mine under the rear strut bar in the hatch. I cant comment on how it would sound behind the drivers seat, but it actually produces a good amount of bass, and is fairly accurate too. Because the Z has such small interior space, it can get fairly loud if you want. Sure better quality woofers with a box and separate amp would sound better/louder, but for the price and ease of install I'd say it is a great buy.

I bought a Basslink online with the intention of putting it behind the driver's seat. I went to 3 places and none would install it there...too much work tearing down all the crap molding and brackets and stuff.

I ended up selling it and getting a box under my strutbar. If you do get a Basslink and aren't going to do the install yorself....make sure you talk to an installer who guarentees that they can (before you buy one).

edit: Circuit City was one of the installers that wouldn't do it behind the seat.

Basslink is free air sub. I don't think you need to do much work.
I have a buddy who installed his Basslink by himself and sounds pretty good with stock system.
