Default Spare Tire Bolt Size

Hi everyone,
I'm almost finished making my spare tire-well sub box, and have a quick question for those who have dealt with this before; I plan on atatching the box to the spare tire mount and don't want to use the stock bolt. What kind of bolt diameter and thread size should I get?
Also, does anyone know if home depot or the like has corrugated plastic like the kind nissan uses to cover the spare tire?

thanks for the help folks!

I built my box around the metal mount for the spare. There is no need to bolt it to the brace at all. If your fiberglass is thick enough, the brace will prevent it from moving just fine.

thanks for the quick reply dan! I should have specified, the box is actually made of mdf, and though the fit is quite tight, i need it to bolt down to reduce the chance of rattling between mdf and the metal floor.

Ahhhh. Yes with MDF that makes sense. Still, will you need to make a hole in the interior of the box to accomplish this?

sure do. I've made a rubber washer to keep it sealed. My box is pretty similar to yours except i didn't want to go through the trouble of fiberglass. (not enough ventilation, time or talent) Also, the sub is placed on the other side of the bolt, so it's as far back in the car as possible.
Id like to see a finished pic of your box in the car, got one?

Yeah, some older ones. Recently I built up the trunk a bit so the sub is exactly level with the floorboard. In these pics it wasn't. One is with the MBQ ring and the other is with an Audiobahn 12" subwoofer steel grill.

Back to my original questions; Does anybody know where to get that corrugated plastic or know what thread size i need for the spare tire bracket?
