Is it just me or does anyone/everyone else receive extremely horrendous radio reception with my/their Z. I have a touring with Bose, dont know if it matters, I dont think it should, if anything it should be better. I live in NYC too, so its not like Im getting weak signal s. I mean, my dad's95 Plymouth Voyager work van gets Bose quality sound reception in comparison to the reception I get, I cant go 10 feet without it fuzzing up or fading in/out. Should I take it back to the dealer if this sounds like a problem no one else has?

mine sucks too, can barely use an iTrip. K-Rock craps out on me, I live in Nassau County...wtf

 

I dont know if its a NYC thing, I live 15 miles from the Empire State building, how could I get bad reception from Z100 or KTU?

I guess Ill ask the same question at the Northeast LI meet next Sunday.

 

I live in staten island, i get fine reception from KTU, Z100 and K-ROCK

 

I don't get static here in OR but my reception is definitely poor in the Z (and really good in other cars).

 

I have a shorty antenna on my car, and I get great reception on my radio. You might take it to the dealer and just have them check it out. That doesn't sound right to me, unless you're getting cross-talk interference from other frequencies.

 

I get excellent reception here in San Francisco, CA--and I get lousy reception at the same places that other cars get lousy reception

 

I live so far out in the boonies my cds catch static.

 

 

How ironic...I was gonna initiate a thread on this very topic, but the OPPOSITE...I've found that my z has ridiculously flawless reception here in Gwinnett County, GA.

 

I have a stubby antenna, like half the size of the s2000 antenna that people always get for their Z and my reception is pretty good. I think you need to get your car checked.

 

I have poor reception also. Even before I upgraded the Headunit it got crappy reception. Does anyone have any other input? My new HU is a Priemiere DEH-P8MP.

 

i bought an S2000 antenna and the reception got better...

 

Nevermind, I found what i needed....

 

just a thought n comment.. i replaced the stock headunit and the reception got worst for my pioneer unit. after some homework, and working with the stereo shop, i learned that the antennae on the z is powered/amplified.. once the wire was reconnected, the reception is great.. (in case u may have not re-connected the amp wire or it came loose)

 

same thing was happening to me. Then I realized someone had actually unscrewed and stolen my antenna. I bought a new one for $35 and reception was fine.
