Default Factory Speaker Power

Did a search....and here's the question: Is the entire factory Bose stereo powered by the "amp" in the back, or does the stock HU power any of the speakers? Need to know in advance of gutting the interior and running wire- going to do everything at once and save a ton of aggravation. Thanks in advance!

Is there more than one amp for the bose system. I just removed my bose to get ready to install the new stereo system. However I only came across one amp mounted by the sub wich looks like it only powers the sub and nothing else.

If there is another amp were is it located.

Well, the one I am asking about is in the rear left of the hatch area under the carpet and some black styrofoam (!) blocks. If there's another amp with the stock sub, that's news to me. I'd love to have a definitive answer on this.

Nope - two for the Bose. There is a four channel amplifier under the antenna - under the foam. And there is a second tiny amplifier for the subwoofer. Here's a picture to prove this second one ...

Here's the wiring to the other amplifier.

Yes, the headend puts out a line level signal which is amplified by the two remote amplifiers.
