I've just replace the antenna with an s2000 one. Now the stock antenna seems very flexable around the base (the thick part). My question is, is the stock antenna just a screw at the bottom?? If the antenna is that long wouldn't the base be stiff due to the metal from the screw going up to the tip of the antenna?

If its just a screw then why such a long antenna? why not just have a little nub for an antenna.

The only other possibility I could think off is that theres a thin wire that connects the screw with the antenna. Again, why the extra length?
